Overview of Standardised Tests in UAE Education
CAT 4 Assessments
The Cognitive Abilities Test (CAT 4) measures important cognitive skills like reasoning, problem-solving, and learning potential.
When is it done?
CAT 4 tests are generally taken when students enter a new school and are repeated in Year 2, Year 4, and Year 6.
Why is it important?
While we don’t administer CAT 4 tests ourselves, we use the results to understand your child’s cognitive strengths and learning style. This allows us to adjust our tutoring to better support their individual needs.

End-of-Year GL Assessments provide an overview of your child’s progress in core subjects like English, Maths, and Science.
PASS Data
The Pupil Attitude to Self and School (PASS) survey gives us valuable insights into your child’s emotional well-being, attitude towards learning, and overall school experience. This helps us provide support that goes beyond academics.
NGRT Assessments
The New Group Reading Test (NGRT) is used to track your child’s reading ability and comprehension throughout the year.
When is it done?
NGRT tests are administered each term, helping us monitor progress in reading and literacy on an ongoing basis.

The NGRT results help us identify areas where your child may need additional support in reading and comprehension, allowing us to tailor our lessons accordingly.

While we do not conduct the official assessments ourselves, we carefully review the assessment data provided by your child’s school, as shared by you. Additionally, we carry out our own baseline assessments at The Tuition Hub to gain a comprehensive understanding of your child’s learning profile.
